CHICAGO, IL) May 16, 2014—Magenta, LLC, a Chicago-based, woman-owned plastic injection molding company, has named Mujtaba M. Khan as the new Director of Quality. Magenta produces closures, containers, components and drinkware to various markets including food and beverage, healthcare, car care, household products and laboratory and research.

“Mujtaba brings nearly three decades of experience in quality to our team,” said Frank Ross, Vice President of Operations at Magenta. “We are confident he will bring the professional discipline, rigors and level of technical expertise we need to fulfill our corporate mission of ‘customer satisfaction through continuous improvement’.”

Khan comes to Magenta from Chandler Industries, Inc. where he was the Director of Quality and an expert at solving manufacturing quality issues. While at Chandler, he led the company’s strategic quality planning and managed the customer satisfaction score card and development of strategic VOC deployment. He also worked at ITT Industries in Chicago for ten years, where he served as Quality Manager for Operational Excellence. There he earned the “Ring of Quality” award for successfully launching the Lean Six Sigma methodology to the company and increasing value by $825K. He has also formerly served as Director of Quality at Ammeraal Beltech, Inc. in Skokie, IL and as a consultant in Quality Management Systems at Global Trading Corporation.

Khan is a Certified Quality Engineer and a Lean Six Sigma, Master Black Belt. He is experienced in ISO 9001:2008 and is an AS9100:2009 and ISO 13485:2003 Lead Auditor. He holds an M.S. in Manufacturing Administration, specializing in Quality and Reliability Engineering from Western Michigan University and a B.S in Industrial Engineering from Tri- State University, Angola, Indiana. He has also completed post-graduate studies at Western Michigan University. His articles and expertise have appeared in the ITT Huddle Magazine and the ABUSA QMS Quarterly.
